What is SquadClock?
SquadClock is a football app for coaches that lets you run a whole match from the touchline: match clock, score, goals, cards, substitutions with per-player minutes, squad management and fair team balancing.
Technically it is a Progressive Web App (PWA). You open it in a browser, install it on your home screen and use it offline from then on.
Does SquadClock work offline?
Yes. After the first load SquadClock works fully offline. The clock, substitutions, goals and cards all work on a pitch with no mobile signal.
An internet connection is only needed to load or update the app — and, with Premium, to purchase and verify the license.
Do I need a user account?
No. SquadClock has no user accounts, no sign-in and no registration. You open the app and start straight away.
Buying Premium does not require an account with us either; the license is handled by Lemon Squeezy and unlocked with a license key.
Is my squad and match data transmitted anywhere?
No. Teams, players, matches and match logs are stored solely on your device in the browser's local storage. They are not transmitted to us or to third parties, and there is no cloud sync between devices.
There is no tracking, no advertising and no analysis of your usage. The privacy policy has the details.
Who is SquadClock for?
SquadClock is aimed at coaches and team managers in amateur and youth football, and at anyone organising a team from the touchline.
It is most useful wherever fair playing time matters — youth football, tournaments and casual sides.
Which sport is SquadClock designed for?
SquadClock is built for football: periods, scorer and assist, yellow and red cards, time penalties and a dedicated goalkeeper role.
Other team sports with playing time, substitutions and cards can often use it too, but it is not designed for them.
Can I track individual players' minutes?
Yes. SquadClock counts every player's minutes automatically while the clock runs and accounts for substitutions and stoppages correctly.
The substitution dialog shows the minutes played next to each name, and the match log keeps them afterwards. With Premium the statistics add up playing time across all matches.
Does the app run on iPhone and Android?
Yes. SquadClock runs in any modern browser, so it works on iPhone and iPad (Safari) as well as on Android phones and tablets (Chrome). It also works on a laptop or desktop.
No download from the App Store or Google Play is required.
Can I install SquadClock as an app?
Yes. SquadClock is an installable Progressive Web App. On iPhone, choose “Share” and then “Add to Home Screen” in Safari; on Android, Chrome offers “Install app”.
It then starts full screen with its own icon and no browser bar — and works offline.
What is included in the free version?
Everything around match day is free: planning matches, the live clock, goals and assists, cards and time penalties, substitutions with played minutes, squad management with positions, fair team balancing, tournaments, the match log and the history.
The base version shows no ads and is not time-limited.
Which features are Premium?
Premium covers the statistics across all matches, the tactics board with runs, arranging the starting line-up on a pitch, and exporting a data backup.
Importing a backup is always possible, even without a license. More Premium features are in development.
How much does Premium cost?
Premium costs €4.99 for 12 months. You buy the license from within the app via Lemon Squeezy and unlock it with the license key sent to you by email.
It is a time-limited purchase, not a rolling subscription with a notice period. When the license expires, all base features and your data remain. Premium also works offline; the app only re-checks the license occasionally and tolerates up to 14 days without a connection.
How is SquadClock different from an ordinary stopwatch?
A stopwatch only measures time. SquadClock ties the match clock to your squad: it knows who is on the pitch, counts minutes per player, logs goals, assists and cards with the match minute, and accounts for periods and stoppages.
The result is not just a final time but a complete match report with the score, the events and the playing times.
Who develops SquadClock?
SquadClock is developed by Frank Röseler as an independent one-person project. The provider and controller are named in the legal notice.
Feedback, bug reports and feature requests go straight to squadclock@roeslr.com — the app has a built-in contact option for it.
